Fik Gaza has been detained at Kibuye Police Station following a targeted police operation conducted at his residence on Thursday.
According to Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, Patrick Onyango, the operation was launched in response to a recent spike in robbery incidents within and around the Katwe Division.
Onyango confirmed that Fik Gaza was apprehended along with several members of his alleged gang and is expected to be arraigned in court on Monday, April 7, 2025. “This was a targeted operation based on intelligence gathered in the wake of increased criminal activity,” Onyango stated.
The news has since sparked widespread reactions on social media, with fans and critics weighing in on the unfolding developments. In a passionate Facebook post shortly after the operation, Fik Gaza dismissed the allegations as false and politically motivated.
“Setup Alert! Let me make this clear, they’re trying to take me down—obviously,” the post reads. “I’ve just been informed that there’s a plot to arrest me on FALSE charges! It’s clear someone is trying to sabotage my career and reputation. But I won’t let them!”
He went on to urge his fans to rally behind him, proclaiming his innocence and condemning what he described as attempts to tarnish his name. “BALIMBA — everything they are saying,” he wrote.
The police have yet to release a detailed charge sheet, but sources suggest investigations are still ongoing.
