Renowned Ugandan events promoter Nobert has announced his intention to sue Hotel Africana for UGX 1 billion.
Nobert claims he suffered significant financial losses after the hotel cancelled an event, he had heavily invested in promoting.
The controversy arose after Hotel Africana revoked its agreement to host Alien Skin’s concert, which was scheduled for February 21, 2025.
The hotel cited concerns over potential crowd mismanagement and security risks as the reasons for the cancellation.
Speaking to journalists, Nobert expressed his frustration, stating that he had already spent substantial amounts on advertising and other preparations.
He vowed to take legal action against the hotel to recover his losses.
Meanwhile, Alien Skin’s concert has been relocated to Lugogo Cricket Oval, one of Uganda’s largest music event venues.
The move ensures that the highly anticipated event will proceed as planned, albeit at a different location.
Further developments on the legal proceedings and event arrangements are expected in the coming weeks.
