“I was on the front line of the Gen Z protests in Kenya,” he revealed during his interview on Sanyuka TV.

Sammy was released last week after months of detention in Luzira Prison, following charges of being a “common nuisance.”

According to court documents signed by Magistrate Grade One Her Worship Kyoshabire Caroline and State Attorney Mr. Mucunguzi Allan, the case was dismissed for lack of evidence.

Sammy’s cash bail of UGX 500,000 was also refunded.

National Unity Platform (NUP) leader Robert Kyagulanyi, also known as Bobi Wine, joined other well-wishers online to celebrate Sammy’s release.

Sammy was initially arraigned in Buganda Road Court and charged under Section 148(1) of the Penal Code Act before being detained in Luzira.

His release marks the end of a challenging period for the comedian.
