For about a month now, you cannot scroll the TikTok app and not hear the song Charles Yimirira Awo being acted by different individuals with some of them being celebrities. The song belongs to Zani Lady C but in the beginning, it was being tagged to legendary artiste Tony Kalanzi.
Zani Lady C owned up the song by announcing on her social media with proof how the song is hers and did it way back in 1999 when she was kick starting her career. It was easy to own the song because there was nothing much to prove as it was her typical voice. With the song still trending, the singer earlier today released the video of the song and it is already trending on YouTube.
Whereas she is in the US, Zani Lady C’s video shows part of it shot in the US and other parts back home in Uganda. The song features a group of male comic dancers who are dressed in vintage outfits and on the other side, Zani with a microphone singing at the shores of a lake.
Besides Charles Yimirira Awo, Zani Lady C is also known for a song that will forever keep on the airwaves. The song titled Ndoowa was also released about 15 years ago. Other recent songs attached to Zani Lady C’s name include Nindako, Maria, Nzembiteleza and Komawo. Zani did these songs two years ago when she returned to Uganda for a short holiday.
