Uganda National Musicians Federation President Eddy Kenzo has clarified his stance regarding the government’s decision to ban singer and politician Bobi Wine from performing in Uganda, stating that he holds no authority or power to influence such matters.

During an appearance on ‘NTV The Beat’ show on Wednesday, Kenzo emphasized that his role is solely to advocate for musicians and their rights, distancing himself from political affairs.

He stated, “Bobi Wine wants to become the president of this country, and his ban on performing in Uganda as a musician is beyond my control. I’m simply here to fight for musicians, and I’m not a politician.”

The ban on Bobi Wine’s performances in Uganda has been in effect for over five years, with the government maintaining its stance despite international attention and criticism.

This declaration from Kenzo follows Bobi Wine’s recent performance at “The Return of The Gladiator” show in London, UK, an event that has garnered significant global attention and media coverage.

The ongoing ban on Bobi Wine’s performances continues to stir debate and controversy within Uganda and beyond, raising questions about artistic freedom, political involvement, and the intersection of music and governance.
