Kwepena Fest is returning for its 7th edition this Sunday, 7th August, at the Uganda Museum.
Revelers will participate in several African games including dulu, sonko, mweso, gogolo, tug-of-war, kwepena and many more.
The fun-packed event will also feature entertainment from comedian Collins Emeka who will double as the MC, Drummer extraordinaire AlfonKodee, mixes by DJ Nyowe and DJ Bugy and a surprise act!
“Come to the Kwepena Fest with your friends & family and re-live your childhood memories. Come and dance the weekend away. Come and laugh to your heart’s content,” said Simon Tumukunde, team lead Cheza. “Come because playing kwepena and other African games is good for your health.”
The Kwepena Fest comes at a time when Cheza are concluding Phase 1 of the high school tours dubbed “ChezaFantaFunDay” that saw the same games taken to over 20 schools in Uganda.
On Sunday, revelers will pay only UGX 20k at the entrance while online tickets are already on sale at just 15k.
Kwepena Fest is organized by Cheza, an organisation that adds value and innovation to traditional African games with a vision to transform into global mainstream sports at an Olympic level.
