We have no stars – Micho

micho.Uganda Cranes tactician Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic has said his philosophy during the 2014 Africa Nations Championships (Chan) will be more of team work than relying on a few individuals.

“We do not have stars in this team and because of that we shall not rely on individual players, but play more as a team. We need to be disciplined as a team because it will be our strong point,” Micho told Supersport.com on Tuesday afternoon.

The Coach however emphasized that his philosophy will rotate around having an iron defense, creative midfield and sharp attack.

“I realise that we scored only one goal during the 2011 CHAN event in Sudan, and my strikers are aware they must be clinical to improve on this statistic,” added the Coach.

The Cranes are grouped alongside Burkina Faso, Zimbabwe and Morocco and will be based in Cape Town. The Coach said although he has many young players in the team with some ready to make their first appearance in a high profile tournament, he is confident they will perform because they are so talented and also listen to detail.

During the last Chan event in Khartoum, Sudan, the Cranes lost 2-0, 1-0 and 2-1 to Algeria, Sudan and Gabon respectively. Scotsman Robert ‘Bobby’ Williamson now at Kenyan side Gor Mahia FC handled the team during the event.
