It is not news anymore. Uganda will be one of those countries where it is legal to grow marijuana and sell it over the counter.
With many big firms having acquired acres to grow this plant, government has come out to clarify on the process for the individual small scale farmers.
According to government, individual farmers will have to get farming licenses renewable every 5 years. Government will also do background checks on farmers.
“We are in the process of drafting a standalone policy related to the entire marijuana value chain,” a government source noted.
