Micho concerned by poor show

micho sCranes coach Micho Sredojevic has admitted Uganda will have to dig deeper if his current side can go the distance in the upcoming Cecafa and Africa Nations Championship (Chan).

Uganda labored to a goalless draw with a spirited Rwandan side in a friendly played at Namboole, Kampala on Saturday.

The home side had a better first half before the visitors put up an impressive second half onslaught but both sides lacked in application in front of goal.

But for Micho, it will be his midfield’s dire lack of quality that will have worried him ahead of Cecafa, in which they are pooled with Rwanda.

“First half we had more of the ball,” said Micho, adding, “But in second half we couldn’t treat the ball better, and we also have to work on the finishing touch.

“We are trying to bring in new players but you know it takes time to gel. But we are working so hard to improve before Cecafa (which kicks off in two weeks’ time in Nairobi).”

“This is like a starting point. We can do better than this I trust these boys. So we are going back to the camp to work on the technical aspect and to polish on our finishing.”
