Cranes striker Emmanuel Okwi was left disappointed by his own performance and that of his teammates as Uganda played out a goalless stalemate with Rwanda in a friendly at Namboole on Saturday.
Okwi was guilty of missing some chances but was equally frustrated by lack of supply from a rather flat centre of the park, forcing the forward to fall back and search for the ball.
“Of course I’m disappointed as a striker but we are working on it,” he told SuperSport in Kampala.
“We are hopeful that in the next few days we shall work on it and that we shall be in better form before the tournament (Cecafa).
“Today was not a good game for us, but I can’t say it was also a bad one. We have to respect Rwanda as well; they played very well and they could have won the game because they created some good chances.
“So we shall pick the positives but most importantly work on where we didn’t do well today.”
Uganda and Rwanda are grouped together in Pool C of Cecafa, with Sudan and Eritrea the other teams. The tournament starts on November 27.
