Team No Sleep queen Sheebah Karungi was the big winner of the evening at the Zzina Awards held on Friday.
The singer who dominated the local airwaves in 2016 walked away with four awards including the top gong — Artiste of the Year, Female Artiste of the Year, Best Collaboration and Best Fans Team.
Sheebah’s joy was palpable as she received the Artiste of the Year award, and used the opportunity to extend her gratitude to the different individuals who have been pivotal in her music career, mostly notably her manager Jeff Kiwa.
“To all those who believed in me, this is for you,” she said. “The fans, producers, songwriters, deejays, and media who push my music, but most importantly Team No Sleep manager Jeff Kiwa. You said I would one day win this, and here we are.”
The other big winners were Ziza Bafana, Ykee Benda and Ceasorous who each walked away with two accolades.
Now in their 4th edition, the awards that seek to reward outstanding individuals in the fields of music, comedy and sports, were held at a red-carpet event that took place at Theartre La’Bonita.
