A very close friend to Douglas Mayanja aka Weasel TV of Goodlyfe has revealed 3 top reasons why Weasel could not continue with school after Form Six. We reproduce the reasons given.
1. Passion For Music
Chameleone was already a successful music artiste and Weasel being a younger brother witnessed all the good fruits that came out from following one’s passion and being paid to exist. Thus, when Form six came, Weasel could not wait to get done with his UACE exams to officially become active in Leone Island full time. This was the number one reason why he dropped out. To follow the path with a heart for him, and this path was a musical one.
2. Stubborn Student
This former friend of Weasel at Kawanda SSS reveals that Weasel was a super stubborn fellow. “We had a group called the Dogs Crew and this was a group that terrorized the whole school. We had girls in this crew and we can’t even count how many girls we impregnated and how many of these pregnancies we denied. We gave the school real headache. I remember during the World Cup that took place in South Korea and Japan, we used to escape from school in the morning to go and watch soccer. Weasel was a day scholar, and he was one of the brains of the Dog Crew, in fact, during that World Cup, we were suspended to go and watch soccer from home and come back with our parents after the finals. Because of this, we thought it best to drop out and it was agreed upon by all members of the Dog Crew.”
3. Poverty
The friend continues; “the Mayanja family was not doing well financially at the time and judging from Weasel’s grades, it was unlikely that he would get government sponsorship and private sponsorship is not something that looked possible for him. Other than waste money at campus and look for jobs after graduation, Weasel just like most members of the crew chose to drop-out. He was a day scholar and was indeed broke; in fact he looked so miserable that we were the ones who funded him whenever we went out. But he was also a sex-pest, he was literally addicted to sex just like all the crew members. I hope he still remembers me. I have now reformed and realized that life is more than being stubborn and disobedient.”
Well, the friend asked to be kept anonymous. We landed on him somewhere in Kireka just above the Railway line. He promised to avail us with photos of Weasel as a school boy.
