Youthful humanitarians under their umbrella association dubbed Draw A Smile Uganda will on Sunday, July 22nd 2018 contribute to the education of over 218 deaf pupils at the Ntinda school of the deaf through games.

The games which have been called #5On5 will include 5 aside football, Kwepena, Board games, Video games, Matatu among others will go down at the pitch side inside the Ntinda School of the deaf this Sunday starting at mid day to 6pm. Winners will be awarded specifically.

Draw A Smile Uganda is a not for profit non government organisation that was founded by a former TV personality, Sasha Ferguson to donate, inspire and educate young children as well as empowering youth and fighting for rights of single mothers.

They are now fundraising for scholastic materials of over 218 deaf children at the Ntinda School of the Deaf which offers primary education with pre vocational skills in Carpentry, Tailoring, Home Sciences and Agricultural practice.

According to Canary Mugume who is a member of the group and journalist at Next Media owned NBS TV, The school has offered these children an environment to learn but they lack scholastic materials and many of them continue to drop out.

” Therefore, we thought that 10, 000 UGX from each of us can create a change. We are the change we want to see and this is why we named the campaign #10kToStudy. Make your donation today to give the deaf children an access to education, communication in sign language, access to work and better living conditions.” – Canary told bigeye.ug

Jonah Kirabo, a social media administrator and volunteer at the organisation also says that the deaf are always segregated in their communities and many of these are denied access to education and this is why Draw A Smile Uganda came up to lend a hand.

They call upon everyone to attend the event on Sunday 22nd, July 2018. Entrance will be 10,000UGX while anyone can register a team of 5 people minimum to compete for medals, trophy and a cash prize in the 5 aside football and Kwepena.

For more information, contact Derrick Kabuye, the organisations secretary via 0756624226 OR 0778197012.

BigEye.ug, Cheza and The Lenz foundation are proud partners in this charity fundraiser.
