It was all tears and emotion at Rubaga Cathedral as friends, family and fans prayed for deceased vocalist, Moses Ssekibogo aka Mowzey Radio.
During Mass, several speakers including Mowzey’s duo mate, Weasel, delivered their speeches that moved mourners. When it was Weasel’s turn to speak, his were words that left everyone touched.
Weasel talked about his time with Radio in the last 10 years where they came from nothing into something, he also talked about how he is going to miss Radio and all the good things they have done together like traveling the world and winning awards as a team. He couldn’t talk for long and said that he is weak both emotionally and physically.
‘I am called Mayanja Douglas aka Weasel. We started together with Radio when we had nothing at all and promised each other heaven and earth. And you have been seeing what we have done for ourselves and the nation in the years we have been together as musicians we even went to BET International awards together! We had won several awards and moved the whole world and finally he has left me and I pray he rests in eternal peace,” a teary Weasel said before he requested to go back to his seat.
Other speakers included NRM’s Kasule Lumumba who advised mourners about security and asked them to be cautious when it comes to security matters.
Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago told people that life is very precious and that they should not play about it he prayed for Radio’s soul to rest in eternal peace.
Other speakers included the Katikiro of Buganda Owek. Peter Mayiga, the mother of the deceased Ms Kasuba Jane, Musicians Mesach Semakula and Jose Chameleone to mention but a few.
Radio’s body was taken to Kololo Independence grounds for public viewing. He will be laid to rest at his family home in Kagga village along Entebbe road on Saturday 3rd. Mowzey Radio died on February 1st 2018 following a bar brawl in Entebbe at a place called De Bar.
