Aucho

By James Robert Kayindi

Uganda Cranes international Khalid Aucho has joined Kenyan Premier League (KPL) defending champions Gor Mahia from Tusker.

After a two season spell with Tusker, the midfielder has decided to cross and join Gor Mahia ahead of the new season and was unveiled at the Nyayo stadium on Thursday. The move to sign Aucho was made in an attempt to replace the departed Uganda Cranes anchorman Geoffrey ‘Baba’ Kizito who chose to seek greener pastures elsewhere.

Aucho now joins Cranes left back Geoffrey Walusimbi and Augustine Walusimbi who have also just joined the club.

The reigning champions, however, still have a huge task to fulfill in the transfer market as they continue to search for a replacement for the departed Daniel ‘Mzee’ Sserunkuma who recently joined Tanzania’s Simba. Sserunkuma was top scorer for two seasons as he guided Gor Mahia to two league titles.
