The Uganda Cranes have slipped to 77th place from being 76th in the world according to the latest rankings released by the Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA) on Thursday 8th January, 2015 at the body’s base in Zurich, Switzerland.
Uganda now ranks 77th out of the 209 countries that are affiliated to FIFA. In Africa, Algeria maintained their top spot but remain 18th in the whole world. South western neighbours Rwanda remain above all the other countries in the CECAFA region while Kenya fell a place from 116th to 117th. Tanzania and Ethiopia moved a place forward each to 104th and 109th respectively.
World cup winners Germany remained top of the log with the runners up Argentina keeping their second spot. Generally the top most 45 spots remained unchanged due lack of international football games recently especially in the month of December.
Africa’s top five:
Algeria (18 with 948 Points), Tunisia (22 with 873 Points), Cote d’Voire (28 with 833 Points), Senegal (35) and Ghana (37).
World’s top three:
Germany (1725 Points), Argentina (1538 Points), Colombia (1450 Points)
