Six time league champions Express Football Club have parted ways with their long serving head coach Wasswa Bbosa after a one-all draw with Uganda Revenue Authority Football Club at Muteesa II Memorial Stadium, Wankulukuku.
Herman Wasswa scored a second half equaliser for Express to cancel Bokota Labama’s first half lead for URA.
Earlier on before the game, news had broken out that Bbosa had been put under a firing notice by club Chairperson Hon. Nakiwala Kiyingi should he fail to win against the Tax Collectors.
“Express Football Club parts ways with Coach Wasswa Charles Bbosa on mutual consent. We thank him for the great service towards the club,” read part of a statement published on the club’s official Facebook page.
Bbosa has been part of the Red Eagle since the 2011/12 season when they last won the league title and has always worked hard to keep the club on its feet despite all the financial troubles. He however leaves them 7th on the league table with just 15 points and goal deficit of one.
The all-time Uganda Cup winners (ten times) have promised to find a replacement as soon as possible. “Further changes in our technical bench and replacement will be announced before we host Sadolin FC on 3rd December,” further read the statement.
