When Eddy Kenzo said he would one day represent Uganda in the BET Awards, many scoffed at him. But that did not deter his dreams, he worked on and would later charm the world with his infectious dance moves in his international breakthrough song “Sitya Loss”.
He has since reveled in unprecedented success with several nods in different awards across the globe. And to top it all off is now a BET Awards nod.
Eddy Kenzo has been nominated in BET’s newly introduced category, the first ever Viewer’s Choice “Best international” category.
According BET Africa, “This category is not to be mistaken for the Best intl. Act: Africa this is a BRAND NEW category. This a new FAN-VOTED category celebrating rising stars across the channel’s international footprint.”
The nominees were announced on Social Media: “It’s official Africa!!! The nominees for the all new category: International Viewer’s Choice Award. Hash tag #IPick followed by your favourite artist ‘s name to vote!!!! Remember to catch awards simulcast on BET (129) & BET2 (135) DSTV on 30 June at 20h10 CAT.”
