Zuku TV, Wanachi Group’s home entertainment and communication services brand, held a media and national broadcaster’s breakfast at the Kampala Serena hotel to kick off their Digital migration campaign. This campaign comes hot on the heels of the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) digital migration campaign which was started on Monday 15th June 2015 by switching off the analogue signal in Kampala and surrounding areas. The process is expected to end in August 2015. Apart from Uganda, Zuku TV operates in Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi and Zambia, and is expanding to other countries in the greater East African region.

During the breakfast, which was attended by members of the media, the national Association of Broadcasters and the officials from UCC; it was the perfect backdrop for Zuku TV to kick off the campaign, dubbed The Zuku Digital Challenge which will see Zuku activations taking place across the country with a drive to educate the general public about Digital Migration. The four week challenge will see over 100 customers winning fully connected Zuku TV kits as a measure to avail the world class-channels.

Speaking during the event, Zuku TV General Manager, Mr. Jared Mokobo said, “A lot has been said about the whole Digital Migration process and as East Africa’s leading home entertainment service provider, Zuku TV strongly feels the need to lead the way and ensure the public is empowered with information to make the right migration choice. There are many benefits of digital migration some of which include better picture quality which will enhance viewing pleasure, a wider choice of channels and easier access to more services and information. At Zuku our agenda is to make the migration process a smooth and easy one with The Zuku Digital Challenge by making acquiring a decoder as affordable as possible for all Ugandans. During The People’s Choice Quality Awards 2015, Zuku TV was voted the Best Digital TV service provider in Uganda by the people of Uganda.”
