Dancehall singer Ziza Bafana has voiced strong concerns against events promoter Abtex, accusing him of exploiting artists and undermining their value.

Bafana’s comments come after Abtex staged a concert in Uganda with an entrance fee of only Ugx.5,000, despite featuring more than 50 artists on the lineup.
According to the singer, such practices do not only lower the worth of artists but also damage their brands in the long run.

“Stop despising us,” Ziza Bafana said, stressing that artists invest heavily in their music and image, and therefore deserve fair treatment and appreciation.
He further noted that concerts organized with such low entry fees and an overwhelming number of performers create the impression that artists are cheap, which affects their bargaining power in future shows.
The singer called upon promoters to respect the efforts of musicians and prioritize quality events that truly reflect the value of Ugandan talent.
