Dancehall star Ziza Bafana has boldly claimed that Ugandan artists hold more power than government ministers, both financially and socially.

According to Bafana, musicians not only earn more than many politicians but also enjoy greater influence among the people.
He explained that an artist can easily earn between Shs 70–80 million from just two shows in a month, and with a few more performances, that figure could rise to Shs 100 million. In comparison, he noted, a minister takes home about Shs 40 million monthly.
“Musicians are more powerful than ministers. Even in making money. Musicians have the people’s favor more than politicians, and that’s why people pay to see us,” Bafana said.
The singer further emphasized that once the long-awaited Copyright Amendment Bill is passed, artists will have even more opportunities to maximize their earnings.
With proper structures in place, he believes Ugandan musicians could generate what he described as “crazy money” with relatively little input.
