Dancehall artiste Ziza Bafana, who is well known for hits like ‘Agende’ and ‘Tuli Majje’, has landed in a big scandal after he snubbed a show at Jojos Night Club in Bugiri district.
Following his no-show at Jojos Night Club, revelers that had turned up became violent and the police officer who was guarding the premises tried to calm them down in vain. He ended up started shooting at them, killing two people in the process.
Ziza Bafana has came out to defend himself indicating that they received partial payment, but the promoter promised to clear the balance within two days to the event, something he failed to do thus snubbing the show.
“My management tried calling him and all he could say is I will clear you soon. Promoters have a tendency of not clearing an artiste once they step on stage and perform. So we drove from Kampala to Jinja and made a stopover, a way to shorten our distance to Bugiri. We then called him again but he didn’t pick. As it approached midnight, I and my crew decided to board and drive back. It’s so sad people lost their lives during the scuffle because they had not seen me on stage. Our sincere condolences to the families of the deceased,” said Ziza Bafana.
