With only ten days left to the kick-off of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2015 that will be played in Equatorial Guinea, Zambia have named their 23-man squad that will fight for silverware at the one-month long tournament.
The 2012 AFCON champions have only retained eight players from those that guided Zambia to the 2012 silverware in Gabon. Among those that were excluded from the 23-man squad is Captain Christopher Katongo, Alex Katongo and James Chamanga among others.
Head coach Honour Janza has named TP Mazembe Englebert’s midfielder Rainford Kalaba as his new captain that will lead the team come 17th January 2015 when the tournament kicks off. Zambia are in Group B with 2004 champions of Tunisia, Democratic Republic of Congo and Cape Verde Islands.
