Entertainment journalist Kasuku has opened up about his decision to decline a job offer from Next Media, one of the country’s largest media houses.

The outspoken media personality cited his thriving YouTube platform, Kasuku Live, as the main reason for turning down the opportunity.

Speaking recently, Kasuku explained that Next Media has a strict policy requiring its employees to cease running personal channels upon joining the company.

For Kasuku, whose YouTube channel ranks among Uganda’s top entertainment platforms and is a major source of income, abandoning it was not an option.

“I couldn’t just leave Kasuku Live dormant,” he stated. “It’s not just a passion project—it’s a business that I’ve built over time.”

Kasuku made these comments while addressing media personality Haffy Powers’ move from BBS Terefayina to Next Media.
