South African-based, Ugandan business woman and socialite, Zari Hassan emphasizes that she is not moved by People Power political group supporters’ threats.
During her live Facebook video session, Zari hit back at the ‘red ballet army’ supporters who have been trolling her on social media ever since she asked for detailed credentials of their leader, Bobi Wine’s running Presidency in the 2021 General elections.
Zari said that she is also a Ugandan who is eligible to request for a manifesto from any political aspirant in the country.
She noted that it’s absurd the way People Power movement’s supporters are treating Ugandans to have no right of supporting any other political party of their choice.
The mother to five also questioned the political party’s leadership once voted into Power if it can fail to streamline peace, democracy and human rights during such a time.
“You need to entice us to come back home and support your party not forcing us to. If you cannot preach rights of choice among people right now, what will you do when you win the elections?” Zari said.
Zari also trashed allegations of being an opportunist to her late husband Ivan Ssemwanga who just married because of his wealth.
She revealed her and late husband’s humble background and hustle before becoming billionaires owning some of the biggest companies around the continent.
These include the fabled, Brooklyn Colleges in South Africa that she currently runs as the head director.
“I and my late husband met even before he had a single penny on him. We tirelessly worked hard to be where we would be with him now if he was still alive. I was the initiator of all our schools’ businesses and it was one of our dreams to own, you can refer to Ivan’s family for details,” she added.
She further encouraged Ugandans especially the female gender to utilize every opportunity in the country in order to change their lives and families with the less capital they may posssess.
