Last Friday, Uganda Breweries officially launched Bond 7 Honey, a new flavour and variant, which is an extension of Bond 7 premium whiskey, the latest addition to the spirits portfolio offered by the company.
The event, held at Legends Rugby Grounds, was dubbed the Hive Experience with a gold and yellow design as well as hexagonal-shaped tables aimed at mimicking the inside of a bee hive.
Attendance was strictly by invite, with guests arriving as early as 5 pm where they were greeted with cups of Bond 7 Honey to taste.
To add to the special nature of the occasion, there were two open bars where bee suit-clad mixologists served delicious cocktails with names like ‘Honey I’m Home’ and ‘Honey and Lemonade’, all of which were specifically created for Bond 7 Honey.
Throughout the event, a number of fun games were available for all the guests to indulge such as cards, foot pool, foot checkers, 3D table tennis and Jenga.
DJs Slick Stuart and Roja and Fem DJ entertained the crowd before Ykee Benda performed a number of hits like Kwiso Bando (Hide and Seek) and Munakampala among many more.
The grand performance, however, came from Swangz Avenue songstress Winnie Nwagi, who brought the event to a conclusion with her chart-topping hits like Musawo, Amaaso, Fire Dancer and many more.
Speaking at the launch, Alvin Mbugua, MD Uganda Breweries said the new variant was aimed at customers who were interested in a smooth-tasting quality whisky.
“We continue to listen to our customers and carry out market research to meet their ever-changing needs. The introduction of Bond 7 Honey is proof of our ambition as Uganda Breweries to lead in innovation in our market,” Mbugua noted.
