Ykee Benda has spoken out about the current state of the country’s music industry, revealing that the scene is in deep crisis.

According to the singer, it’s no longer just about individual artists struggling—everyone is feeling the pinch.
“The industry collapsed,” Ykee declared. “Right now, any artist who makes a show after going a long time without releasing music is bound to flop. You’ve seen them.” He pointed out that fans are no longer attending concerts simply because they love an artist.
Instead, they ask themselves, “What’s new?”—and often, the answer isn’t compelling enough to draw them in.
Using his own experience as an example, Benda cited his recent concert at Serena Hotel. “I got UGX 98 million,” he revealed.
“When you add on extra shows, the target audience and expenditures vary. But Serena as an independent venue can be profitable depending on the kind of artist you are and how you manage the event.”
