Ugandan singer Ykee Benda has opened up about one of the most challenging moments in his career—performing for an empty venue after his concert in Gulu district flopped in 2019.

Speaking about the experience, Ykee Benda revealed that the concert was poorly organized, with little to no promotion in the area.
According to him, his team sensed trouble upon arriving in Gulu when they realized there were no posters or advertisements for the event.
To make matters worse, the event’s organizer, who was a woman, did not attend the concert herself. Instead, she sent representatives to oversee the event.

As the night unfolded, it became clear that the turnout was disappointing. The empty venue was a harsh reality for the artist, who had high expectations for the show.
His frustration grew when his friends, who had traveled with him, began joking about the concert’s failure.
Ykee Benda admitted that he almost lost his temper and nearly got into a physical altercation with them.
The singer also shared how the experience left a deep emotional scar, saying it took him a long time to recover from the disappointment.
Despite this setback, Ykee Benda has since risen to greater heights in the Ugandan music industry, proving his resilience and determination to succeed.
