Ykee Benda has openly stated that only fellow artist Sheebah Karungi has the right to criticize him or offer opinions on his career.
He credits Sheebah for paving the way for his success, acknowledging the pivotal role she played in his breakthrough.
Ykee Benda first gained widespread recognition in 2016 after Sheebah joined him on a remix of his hit single “Farmer.”
The collaboration quickly topped the charts, solidifying Ykee Benda’s place in the Ugandan music scene. Since then, he has continued to show gratitude to Sheebah for the significant boost to his career.
During a live session on his TikTok account, Ykee Benda reiterated his respect for Sheebah, highlighting that she is the only artist he listens to regarding his personal or professional life.

“The only person that has the right to say something to me is Sheebah because she is the one that gave me the collaboration. For the rest, I just see you. I respect you but I don’t fear any of you, I hope you understand,” Ykee said.
Ykee Benda made the statement while responding to fellow artist Kabako, who had advised him to steer clear of the ongoing feud between King Saha and Jose Chameleone.
While Ykee respects others in the industry, he remains steadfast in acknowledging Sheebah as the one who gave him his big break.
