Singers Ykee Benda and Cindy Sanyu have today been officially unveiled and sworn in as the Uganda Musicians Association President and Vice-President respectively.

The swearing and handover ceremony took place at Mestil Hotel, Kampala.

Benda replaces longtime female singer, Sophie Gombya who resigned for the position in June to fully concentrate on her political career.

Cindy also substitutes Ykee Benda who is now working as the new President of the association.

UMA is extremely expectant under the new leadership and has also commended Sophie for her past remarkable services.

Here is a statement from the Uganda Musicians Association;

Today @ykeebenda was legally sworn in as UMA president taking on from Sophie Gombya. The handover ceremony was held at mestil hotel.

 Also @cindysanyu was sworn in as Vice president of UMA. We look forward to a good leadership with these two at the top.

We would like to also thank our outgoing president Sophie Gombya for everything she put in during her leadership and wish her the best in her new journey.

Congratulations to Ykee Benda and Cindy!
