Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure took to Twitter after his side’s win over cross-city rivals Manchester United to boast about the bragging rights the Blues obtained.
The Ivorian celebrated in style when he scored City’s third goal on the night after Edin Dzeko’s double put Manuel Pellegrini’s side 2-0 up at Old Trafford.
The win leaves City sitting three points off the pace of league-leaders Chelsea and with two games in hand still to be played.
It also moves Pellegrini’s side 15 points above United, who finished an impressive nine points above City when they lifted the Premier League title last season.
Toure’s strike was his 21st goal for City this season, with 17 and five assists coming in the league, and he held no punches when he took to the social media platform to brag about the win.
“Manchester is and will always be blue…” he wrote on his official Twitter account.
Confidence is flowing through the Manchester City team at the moment and it has seen Toure experience some impeccable form for the 2012 English champions. Last Saturday he also scored his first career hat-trick in 5-0 win over Fulham.
