Yamaha Music unveils E-Band Competition

YamahaYamaha Music presents the Yamaha E-Band Competition; the first-ever amateur band competition showcasing the recorded video performances of music talents from diverse cultures all over the world. This is one of the great opportunities to expose your band’s talent and become popular worldwide via the internet. Upcoming musicians are encouraged to sign-up and register their band and become part of this exciting event.

The Grand Winner of the competition will be granted an all-expense paid trip to compete at the 2016 Asian Beat Band Competition on November 5th, 2016. There will also be individual prizes for the best guitarist, bassist, keyboardist, drummer and vocalist.

In a bid to promote Ugandan bands, SELAK Uganda LTD in conjunction with Talent Africa, will be holding a free recording session for various bands for submission into the competition. Entrants are encouraged to register for the Yamaha e-Band Competition at the Yamaha Music Showroom operated by Selak Uganda located at Radiant House on Plot 20 Kampala Road.  The deadline for submissions into the Yamaha e-Band Competition is 27th August, 2016.

“This competition is meant to facilitate talent development, as well as motivate and inspire young musicians to do their best and scale to an international level,” said Meron Agaba, the General Manager of SELAK Uganda.

Eligible entrants must possess the following qualities; they should be amateur musicians with no contract with a recording company, the band must comprise up to maximum six members, must be a minimum of 15 years of age with parental/guardian consent. The band’s video submission must not exceed 6 minutes in length and should be void of any offensive and discriminatory words or actions to any person or group(regardless of sex, race, religion or gender.)

Entrants are encouraged to sign up for the recording session at Yamaha Music Showroom on Kampala Road before the 27th of August. The Ugandan band with the best submission will receive prize of Yamaha Music products courtesy of SELAK Uganda LTD, the official distributor of Yamaha merchandise in Uganda.
