The times, they are changing; the ranks they have changed. www.bigeye.ug is now the most visited, most popular local website in Uganda according to the recent Alexa rankings.
BigEye.ug which is run by a great team of people; Edwin Junior (Team No Sleep Legend), Stuart G-Khast (From the Ghetto to the Bank), Ian Ortega (Mr.Sniper), Tuhairwe Joab (Mr. MUK), and Bulayaani (Taata Injection) among others made history a while back when it changed the rankings that had gone unchanged for the past decade.
The first and second position have always belonged to www.monitor.co.ug andwww.newvision.co.ug. However, BigEye.ug has revoked and re-written history.
Ian Ortega, the Managing Editor currently based in Kigali, Rwanda, had this to say;
“A few weeks back, I didn’t even imagine we would be number one. Yes we were number three at the time, but number one didn’t seem something that I saw coming this early. You see, the first and second positions have always been the monopoly of www.newvision.co.ug and www.monitor.co.ug which in any case shouldn’t be a surprise.
But then, something dramatic happened, Brian sends me a message and he’s like “we are on top.” I am like; “stop smoking weed,” he tells me to check it out for myself. And Yes, we were number one. Number one in Uganda.
Now that’s a perfect online entrepreneurship orgasm. Not even money could bring such happiness and fulfillment.
