As the 2018 World Cup draws nearer, the excitement and tension around the world is escalating. To keep up with the excitement, MultiChoice Uganda has launched a World Cup campaign for both its DStv and GOtv customers.

The campaign presents an all exciting offer for the season including pop-up channels with past and present World Cup content and many prizes to be won.

While addressing journalists at Sky Lounge, the DStv Marketing Manager, Phoebe Nakabazzi said, “We understand what the World Cup tournament means to our customers and that is why we have chosen to go over and above in our delivery including our association with A+E Network International to launch an exciting 24 – hour pop up channel called, ‘History of Football’ which provides great historical matches, and interviews from football’s greats. The channel is available to DStv Premium, Compact+ and Compact customers with 14 days of original, globally-focused premium documentary series, short form specials and a selection of FIFA World Cup films.”

Phoebe also noted that, “We have included customer centric activities at the different shopping malls, supermarkets and our branches where customers stand a chance to win a number of prizes ranging from subscription, memorabilia, shopping vouchers and so much more. Every customer is a winner during this world cup season.”

All the 64 matches of the World Cup will be broadcast on all DStv platforms and the customers will access live match commentary options in Pidgin and Swahili that fit well with East and West Africa.

According to Albert Nga, GOtv Marketing Manager, GOtv customers are not excluded from the World Cup fever. He revealed that they have rolled out massive roadshows throughout the country and are bringing the fun and excitement closer to the fans.

He further noted, “GOtv customers for the first time will access all the 64 matches on GOtv Max and GOtv Plus bouquets. For those subscribed on GOtv Value will watch 56 matches and the highlights on Blitz. Everybody has been catered for.”
