MC Talha is one of the TV stars nominated for Buzz Teeniez Awards which are on this Saturday at Kati Kati. He’s nominated in the category of Teeniez teen TV presenter while his show Spotlyt is nominated as the Teeniez Best TV show. Here he shares with us why he thinks he will be walking away with the awards on the day.
How did you feel about getting nominated for BTA?
I felt appreciated and recognized for my hard work because teens don’t lie and aren’t biased. What I know about teenagers is that they don’t hide emotions. They cheer you or boo you without thinking twice. So when I got nominated I was humbled.
What does this mean to you and your team at Spotlyt?
It means a lot to us. It actually meant that we are on the right track and should just ignite our movement. We are working even harder right now. Hard work pays.
How long have you guys been on air? Hasn’t it been like a year?
We’ve been on air for 18 months. One year and six months.
What is the secret to this record success?
It’s putting your mind and soul to doing quality work. That’s how we do Spotlyt. We are also huge on social media which has put us a head of all the other youth shows. I’m also very God fearing. It adds a lot to the package.
So does this mean you are winning the award as well?
MC Talha and Spotlyt are winning the awards. Let’s wait and see.
Aren’t you scared of Sheilah Gashumba and her friend Kleith? They won it last year.
Why fear them? We are all doing a great job. I respect them so much but my ability speaks for its self too. I’m the best at this honestly.
Good to hear. So are you are Emceeing the event on Saturday?
I wasn’t called to MC this time. I’ll be in the VVIP wing waiting to pick my award which works perfectly for me.
What should people expect from you this year after the event on Saturday?
MC Talha is getting bigger. I’m into business right now. Real estate to be exact. I was also officially notified that I’ll be the MC of Miss Teen this year. Expect to see me on the tours and we are launching the weekend after BTA. A lot is in from MC Talha, my fans should keep supporting.
