Have you bothered to ask yourself why many weddings of late are happening on Weekdays, that’s Monday to Friday instead of the former times of only Weekends. Well, BigEye.ug brings you some reasons why that’s so.
1. Rising Cost of Living
This is a new way of doing away with many guests. Since most people are always busy during weekdays, people find it easier planning for only a few guests who make it to these Weekday weddings. If you give out 100 invites, you only have to actually plan for 50 guests since the other half will send in their apologies thus helping offset bills. Many people never turn up for these weekday weddings which is great for many Ugandans who now respect every penny they earn.
2. Venues are cheaper
Reception halls and Gardens are cheaper during weekdays and are less crowded thus people prefer such moments that are hustle free. Once again, one is able to save a lot on wedding expenses. It’s also cheaper to borrow a wedding gown and suit for the Weekday than for the Weekend since demand is lower in Weekdays.
3. Major Churches Are Not Booked
If one is to have a wedding in Churches like Namirembe Cathedral or Rubaga Cathedral, they are required to book 2 months in advance and on top of this, such a wedding will be sort of a mass wedding, with 3 to 4 couples being wed at the same time. However, this does not happen for the case of Weekdays. One can wake up on any Weekday and schedule a wedding in any of these major churches.
4. Miscellaneous
Decorators, chefs and cars are cheaper on weekdays since they have no demand during these days. It’s thus easy for one to get them at a giveaway price.
All in all, a Weekday wedding is unique and makes one to feel on top of the world, it’s memorable and it’s full of surprises. Imagine, as people struggle to rush to work on Monday, you are rushing to get married to your sweet heart.
Talk of changing times, talk of weekday weddings.
