Deception TV series actress, Pretty Katende screen name Lillian, has gone through a lot because of her character on set.
The actress says that some Ugandans have failed to separate her role on TV from her personal life, with some threatening to stone her for things that happen on the show. Asked if there are incidences where people have failed to separate Lillian from Pretty, the top actress said that this is very common.
Yes. I’m always insulted because of the way I treat my hubby [on the show.] When I was dating Patel, people wrote to my inbox saying: “Why did you leave your hubby? Is it because of money?”
The twenty something old actress even reveals that some men hit on her basing on her role on TV.
A man wrote to me and said: “You leave that Indian and come to me. I know you are looking for money and I have it.”
Deceptions TV show that airs on NTV Uganda started in April 2013. It is about Maama Nalweyiso who moves in with her son and wife, Chris and Monica, demanding for a grandchild. The happy couple is dropped in a hole of scandal! the show which has been around for four seasons is written by Louis Muhereza, Rakel Kwikiriza, Edris Matu Segawa,Musa Luswata and Julie Nantambi. Top stars on the show are Milka Irene, Sara Kisauzi, Pretty Katende, Kabogooza Charles, Hussein Marijan and Keloy Kemigisha.
