Songstress Sheebah Karungi has announced that she will be taking a break from music following her concert on October 4th.
The singer, who has been a dominant force in the Ugandan music scene for over a decade, revealed her plans during a media briefing in Kansanga on Tuesday afternoon.
“I have always wanted to take a break, and God decided to give me one at a time He thought was best for me. I started this hustle at the age of 14, and I am now 34. I believe the Lord has determined that I take a break,” Sheebah explained.
Sheebah, however, reassured her supporters that the break is temporary and that she has no plans of quitting music entirely.
“This is just a break. I am not leaving forever,” she emphasized, promising to return stronger and with even more vigor after her hiatus.
Sheebah has been one of Uganda’s most successful female artists, with an impressive career that has seen her rise to the top of the charts and become a role model for many aspiring musicians.
While the announcement of her break may leave fans yearning for more, her assurance of a comeback has left many hopefuls for what’s next in her journey.
