I rarely write about Chameleone because it’s simple, he’s mysterious, he’s unpredictable. You can’t figure him out and that’s what makes him a musical star.
You know there is going to be a time when Chameleone won’t have a song on the hit charts, then guess what he will go into a music studio and out will come a hit song.
He’s the Charles Darwin of Uganda’s music industry. He wrote down the theory of the musical evolution in this country.
My mother has never missed a Chameleone concert. And you know when she says something is good, that thing must be good.
I was in like P.5 when I first heard the Dorotia song. I was singing it from intro to end. Then the school threw an end of year party. And you know that was the first song on which I squeezed a girl. And not just one girl but about three of them. So that defined Chameleone for me, that his music will always be my genie in a bottle that I wish unto for wonders.
Even when he’s produced the least songs in a year, you are gonna go to a Chameleone concert and he will do everything in his ability to give you value for money. Even if it means climbing on the struts to give you enjoyment, he will do it. He is not a human being, he is a musical being. You can see it on stage when he’s performing.
You know? You have a show, you invite Chameleone. If you are not a serious musician, he will steal the day. He just doesn’t give it 100%, it’s like he gives it 200% and it gets better every time.
From Kipepewo to Valu Valu to Wale Wale, Chameleone is proof that music is immune to language barriers. I am sure even if Chameleone sang in sign language, it would still be a hit song.
Combine that with his mystery and you can’t help but admire the music artiste he is…
I used to think that Chameleone was the Pablo Picasso of music. No, he’s the Chameleone of the music industry. To use an analogy of another person to describe his greatness is to steal a portion of his greatness. He is the Chameleone of the music industry.
You know, if you took the most boring song ever to be released in Uganda and told Chameleone to remix it, it would become a hit. That’s it!!! A super hit!!!
