Renowned Ugandan media personality Gaetano Kagwa has shared his perspective on why family or friends should take on the role of Master of Ceremonies (MC) at weddings instead of hiring professionals.
Gaetano Kagwa, a celebrated actor, radio host, and TV personality, revealed his shift away from emceeing weddings, emphasizing the importance of personal connections in such events.
“I have stopped doing emceeing at weddings and this is why: I don’t really know your story as a bride and groom,” Kagwa explained during a Swangz Avenue Podcast.
“It’s better for you to choose someone who knows and understands your love life, and that’s a close friend or family member. Whether it’s a man or woman, it’s better off than hiring me, a stranger, to MC at your ceremony.”
Kagwa’s advice underscores the value of familiarity and personal touch in creating memorable wedding experiences.
His decision to step back from emceeing reflects his belief that those who know the couple well can offer a more meaningful and personalized touch to the celebration.
