Don Pitya, one of Uganda’s fastest-rising music sensations, is making headlines not just for his catchy sound, but for the bold move that got him here—leaving behind a promising career in engineering to pursue music full-time.

Once a top student with a future in mechanical engineering, Don Pitya shocked many when he traded formulas for flows. “Engineering was something I was good at, but music is what I was born to do,” he shared in a recent interview.

The transition wasn’t easy. Faced with pressure to follow a more “secure” path, Don Pitya chose to follow his passion instead—an instinct that’s paying off. With viral tracks and a growing fan base, his decision is turning heads and inspiring others to chase their dreams.

Don Pitya’s journey from classroom to studio is a powerful reminder that sometimes the best career path is the one that speaks to your heart—not just your degree.
