TCL has taken Samsung to court in the United States, accusing the electronics giant of false advertising over the marketing of some of its M Model televisions as “Mini LED” TVs.
According to Reuters, TCL alleges that the Samsung models do not feature the technological advancements typically associated with Mini LED displays and argues that the description could mislead consumers.
The dispute highlights the growing importance of technical labels in the television market. Terms such as Mini LED are increasingly used by manufacturers to distinguish display technologies and communicate expected differences in picture quality and performance.

Samsung has rejected the allegations, telling Reuters that it stands behind the quality and accuracy of its product descriptions and will vigorously defend itself against the lawsuit.
TCL is seeking a court order preventing Samsung from using the disputed Mini LED description, as well as unspecified monetary damages.
The allegations have not been proven in court, and Samsung maintains that its product descriptions are accurate.
