The social ‘taboo’ connected to having sex during a woman’s period is gradually dying as more couples are finding more ways to connect and make sex better. Of course, there are things every man should keep in mind when having sex at this time though.
1. Protect your sheets:
You absolutely should not consider period sex on your bed without some protection. Most people go with a dark towel or folded cloth underneath her pelvis.
2. Clean up after:
To protect yourself, make sure you clean up immediately after sex. You can have wet wipes or warm wash clothes on hand if you do not feel like getting up to take a shower.
3. Maintain good hygiene:
A lady on her period is more susceptible to germs and harmful bacteria, so to protect her, make sure you are clean before sex. Have a shower or make sure your penis, at least, is washed.
4. Limit positions:
Not all sex positions will work during her period. Avoid positions where she is on top as not only will it hurt (when you hit her cervix), it will also cause things to get a lot more messy. Missionary is usually best and will feel more pleasurable for her. Maintain one or two positions to contain the mess.
5. Be protected:
If period sex makes you uncomfortable, then you should consider wearing a condom to protect yourself. Sure, she is unlikely to get pregnant at this time, but protecting yourself will also help you protect each other from STDs.
