Popular musician Weasel Manizo has spoken out for the first time since his public altercation with promoter Nobert Events, shedding light on the events that led to the incident.
In a leaked phone call recording, Weasel, known for his involvement in the celebrated Goodlyfe duo, revealed that he was provoked by Nobert with demeaning remarks about his brand and personality.
Weasel disclosed that Nobert allegedly told him he did not deserve any payment from the recently concluded “Memories of Goodlyfe Concert.”
The promoter reportedly claimed that organizing the event was a favor to Weasel, and therefore, no compensation was necessary.
“Nobert told me what I am not supposed to hear. He said to me that he helped me so he doesn’t need to pay me. He said nobody would have helped me if he didn’t,” Weasel said.
The musician expressed his deep disappointment and frustration, which led to the heated confrontation where he physically lashed out at the promoter.
Following the incident, the management of Radio & Weasel released a statement addressing the situation.
Despite the concert’s success earlier this month, the statement alleges that Nobert Events has refused to pay the duo for their performance.
The management also highlighted their unsuccessful attempts to resolve the matter with Nobert and his team, emphasizing their commitment to fairness and transparency in ensuring that all parties are compensated for their efforts.
As the situation unfolds, both parties are expected to provide further details, with fans and industry stakeholders closely watching the developments.
