Singer Douglas Mayanja alias Weasel Manizo has cried out to government to reopen bars.
The “Bwobayo” hit maker says that artistes need to also start working again, adding that staying home without working has drained them mentally.
“I kindly ask President Museveni to consider us artistes. For sure staying home has drained me personally. I miss performing for my fans and traveling abroad to see my children.” He said.
Bars and other entertainment spots have remain closed since mid March when government instated a lockdown aimed at combating the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The singer who was speaking in a local TV interview also stressed that he has no beef with any artists while commenting about his relationship with Bebe Cool.
“I don’t have any problem with Bebe Cool. We have no beef, we are fine and above all I respect him. He is among the fathers of music in Uganda and therefore he deserves all the respect.” He said.
