Top media agency, Precision Communications Consulting Limited has clarified on the posts and videos currently circulating on social media where Ms. Shanita Namuyimbwa alias Bad Black says that she is going to sue them together with Ministry of Health – Uganda.

According to Precision Media, in response to the appeal made by His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, the President of the Republic of Uganda, for donations during these dire times in which the country has been hit by the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic, it offered to donate strategic and targeted public health risk communication messages to the Government of Uganda through the Ministry of Health.

In mid-April, 2020, there was an increase of COVID-19 positive cases especially from truck-drivers who were entering Uganda from neighboring countries.

These truck drivers are known for indulging with “our girls” at various boarder points and other trading centers while en-route to their respective destinations. This posed a threat to the rapid spread of COVID-19 to our country hence the need to develop a communication strategy to appeal to “our girls” to keep away from truck-drivers.

As communication experts, they advised Ministry of Health to develop risk communication messages to various target audiences for purposes of preventing the spread of Covid-19. The Ministry consented to their proposal.

Thereafter, they approached a one Shanita Namuyimbwa aka Bad Black as a strategic person to reach out and appeal to “our girls” to keep away from truck-drivers. In that spirit, on the 29th of April, 2020 they called and requested Bad Black to voluntarily record an audio-visual message as her contribution to the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic that was later to be donated to the Ministry of Health for airing on various media platforms.

In good faith, Bad Black agreed to their proposal and subsequently the shooting was done at her home in Butabika.

As a gesture in recognition of her contribution, Precision Media offered and gave her a token of appreciation.

In the same spirit of contributing to the fight against COVID-19, Precision Media went on to approach several other personalities such Fresh Kid (through his father) to record an audio-visual message sensitizing children on the proper use of masks and cautioning them not to pick and wear masks that they find disposed-off in their communities.

Bad Black

They agreed to our proposal and the same audio-visual message was recorded and is airing on all media platforms like that recorded by Bad Black.

All this was done with the approval and close supervision by Ministry of Health.

Precision Media also approached other influential people inter alia Dr. Ruth Acheng – Minister of Health, Dr. Diana Atwine – PS Ministry of Health, (Rtd) Maj. Rubaramira Ruranga – Director of Health and Community Outreach Campaigns under Operation Wealth Creation (OWC), Hon. Susan Nabbanja- State Minister of Health and Dr. Baterana Byarugaba – ED Mulago National Specialized Hospital, who in the same spirit consented to voluntarily record audio-visual messages that are airing on all media platforms like that of Bad Black.

Therefore, all the personalities whose messages were recorded, Shanita Namuyimbwa’s inclusive, were a patriotic contribution to the fight against Covid-19 Pandemic.

To its utter dismay, Precision Media’s attention has been drawn to a letter of “Intent To Sue” circulating on social media platforms from Bad Black’s lawyers alleging that she was “used, duped, deceived, and tricked into recording an advert for the Government under a false promise that a meeting would be arranged for her to meet the President, discuss payment and be paid.”

In reference to the above, they wish to state that:

  1. The allegations are full of falsehoods and are far from the facts of the matter and request the public to treat them with all the contempt they deserve as they are aimed at tarnishing our Company’s proper intentions to support the Government in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
  2. There was no commercial contractual obligation whatsoever between Precision Media, Shanitah Namuyimbwa and the Ministry of Health.

Precision Communications Consulting Limited is a multi-dimensional media agency providing immersive digital communication and strategic consulting services that reach audiences, change minds and generate wins.

We will keep you posted.
