Despite the recent criticism, Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) head coach Abdallah Mubiru is still optimistic that his side can edge Uganda Revenue Authority when the two sides clash today (at 4pm) at the Mehta Stadium in Lugazi.
The Kasasiro Boys are set to battle it out with the Tax collectors today in the Uganda Cup despite the international break that has taken the Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL) into a 10days’ break. The fixture is also a repeat of last year’s final of the annual tournament in which URA edged KCCA before being crowned champions.
“We are not in the best of form heading into this game but am confident we can edge URA. They are a good experienced side but we want to stay in every competition and this being a knockout tie, we’ve no option but to go for victory,” Mubiru told the club’s official website.
While Alex Isabirye’s side will be missing the services of lead striker Robert Ssentongo who travelled with the Uganda Cranes to Nigeria for Wednesday’s international friendly, KCCA will be without January signing and winger, Baker Lukooya, Striker Francis Olaki, defenders, Savio Kabugo, Ronnie Kisekka and Captain Sakka Mpiima who are all nursing injuries.
