While some claimed Bebe’s refusal to hand over the Hipipo award for Best Dancehall song to Rema was personal, our snoops have dug deeper. Bebe Cool is said to have started having friction with Rema when she opted to work with Washington, his former producer whom they still have bad blood.
Rema produced the award winnning song with the massively talented producer without Bebe Cool’s prior permission. Bebe went on to suppress the release of the song while Rema was under his umbrella. She then sought the services of her streetwise song writer Saxess, who made the ‘Fire Tonight’ song a hit on radio.
However, Bebe defended his actions stating that not every artiste was handed the award trophy by the person that read their names.
