Sheebah Karungi has congratulated fellow musician Eddy Kenzo upon winning an AAMMA award. The singer known for her ‘Ice cream’ song also noted that it is possible to make it to the international scene and win big awards by singing in Luganda pointing out the fact that Kenzo has been nominated in Channel O for his Luganda song.
The ‘Team No Sleep’ singer started by saying that she was proud of Kenzo and Anne. “Am so proud of Anne Kansiime and Eddie Kenzo for paving way for us!! I am a proud Ugandan now and together we can do better,” she said in reference to the awards that the two won in Australia last weekend.
The ‘Twesana’ singer, then insinuated that she will soon win a Grammy award for singing in Luganda. “Someone said you can never sing in Luganda and make it to the top, but, this was proved wrong when ‘Sitya Loss’ by our own Eddy Kenzo was nominated for Channel O. Way back Channel O was only for English singing artistes like Navio, Keko and Radio & Weasel. But now the game is different. Congratulations big man Eddy Kenzo Only sky is the limit,” she said.
We now await for the former Obsessions singer, Sheebah to make it to the international stage and win global awards.
We will keep you posted.
