Musician Chameleone who has not been taking part in any local awards in the recent years has said that he wants to start his own awards. This he said following a question about awards asked to him by a fan.
According to the singer who was disappointed when popular artistes didn’t win BET awards and only singers who are little known took the awards, organisers are all about making money.
Chameleone also said that local awards are not reliable and he can make it with or without them. “People are businessmen. Don’t work for awards dear young artistes. Awards are good but some people need them to start their career. I started when there were no awards and now look at me. I will also start my own awards at this rate,” he said.
The singer who has been working on music for over 15 years has also won several accolades both locally and internationally.
